Linda Joseph

Linda co-founded EarthArt, serves as President on it's Board and was one of the first full time resident members.

Linda has been planning and experimenting in stewarding the four growing areas established at EarthArt.

Linda was elected to serve as Saguache County Commissioner (2007-2010). Linda consults to Manitou Institute on the Habitat Conservation Program and serves on the Board of ScSEED - the Saguache County Sustainable Environment & Economic Development.

Linda is on the Board of the Global Ecovillage Network and the Council of the Ecovillage Network of the Americas.

Kailash (aka Carl huffman)

Kailash co- founded EarthArt, serves as Treasurer on it's Board and was one of the first resident members.

Kailash has decades of experience in both conventional and alternative building, and contributes infrastructure supervision at EarthArt.

Kailash Computing Services, offers digital video services, desktop publishing and web design. Kailash lives and works sometimes at EarthArt and some in the Town of Crestone. Kailash arranges music and plays guitar in his long time band CB Jazz, and sits in on a monthly Bluegrass Jams at the Villa Grove Trade when he can (2nd Sunday of each month), playing stand-up bass.

Voting Member / Board Member - David Kirchner

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Dave moved to Littleton, Colorado 1956.

Dave has an Accounting Degree from University of Denver (2001), with and minor in Computer Technologies. He has worked in businesses providing computer programming and computer user support, and designed and gave introductory computer courses for learners ages 6 to 60.

Dave is a photographer, and over the years has done organic gardening, built a greenhouse and established an extensive wood shop, where he made things from small children's toys and playhouses, as well as furniture. Dave volunteered for Boulder City Open Space and Mountain Parts as a Volunteer Naturalist for 4 years (1999-2002), and with Indian Peaks Wilderness Alliance as a Wilderness Volunteer for 2 years. And in 2003 volunteered with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) on many trail work and restoration projects. Most of this WRV effort was photo-documentation with some hands on work. Assisted the Forest Service for 3 days in constructing a 30 foot log bridge in the wilderness (no power tools).

Dave is single (never married), is starting to build his residence "Harmony House", and is offering the opportunity for renters or shareholders in a shared residence arrangement.

Investing Member - Silmar Sanchez

Ft. Lauderdale, FL

(the name Silmar is a combo of her two grandmothers' names -
Silvia & Margarita)

Sil was born & reared in Cuba, and came to the USA in 1960. She went to University of South Florida in Tampa and got married in 1966/divorced in 78. Sil's daughter, Nikki, diagnosed with Diabetes at 12, passed away due to kidney failure when she was 26, in 1996.

Sil, an educator by degree, is an interfaith minister by vocation, ordained in '93 by The New Seminary, in NYC, (as was EAV founder Linda Joseph).

She is very involved with the local humane societies and with the animal protection organizations in the Ft. Lauderdale area, where she currently lives with and cares for her elderly mother. We're currently exploring a future, shared home including Linda & Kailash as year round residents, and, Silmar and Stephen/Kanon (below) as interval residents.


Tom Manfred; Investing Members - Tom Manfred, Debbie Tannenbaum

Denver, CO

Tom is a Colorado native. His parents, two sisters and their families all live in the Denver area. Tom’s history includes 12 years of Catholic education, an interest in Christian and Jewish mysticism, a love for the mountains (climbing, hiking, skiing and camping), a commitment and passion for ecology and conservation dating from childhood, a B.A. in English Literature, experience living in a spiritual community, course work in Botany and Landscape Horticulture, two Masters degrees (Counseling and Theology) and training as a Spiritual Director. Tom's wife Debbie Tannenbaum is a school psychologist in the Denver area.

Tom's work experience includes construction (as a laborer, hod carrier and brick layer), truck mechanics, working at the Denver Botanic Gardens and Chatfield Arboretum, and many years working in community mental health. Currently, Tom practices Zen Buddhism (since 1996), reads avidly (e.g. spirituality and religion, ecology and the environment, psychology), provides spiritual direction to individuals, works on his theory of developmental anthropology and takes care of household and yard chores.

Tom and Debbie now own the "Desert House", less than a mile from our Northwest corner, and are Investing Members at EarthArt.


Investing Member - Bo Fox (aka Edward Maitland Fox)

Santa Barbara, CA

Bo is a dear friend of Linda's for over 3 decades. Much of EarthArt's inspiration for rural cooperative living dates back to the 70's, when Bo and other members of the band "Fred" lived on a farm in the Pennsylvania countryside.

Bo is the drummer for California band "Papa Doo Run Run", and is an Investing Member at EarthArt.

Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Stephen has a kayaking business in Palm Beach County, FL called Adventure Times. He is divorced and has a son, Kanon who lives with him part time.

In the early 90's, Stephen and Linda had a business organizing and facilitating self-improvement programs combined with nature and recreation activities. Stephen has watched EarthArt unfold, supporting since it's inception and visiting many times over the years.

Stephen is considering EarthArt membership to have a space to spend time and participate, when he can be here periodically.
