Baby Chicks, 3 days old, July 23, 2004 Chick VIDEO
We ordered day old chicks, which were sent to us by Priority Mail! Post-marked on July 20th, we picked them up first thing on the 22nd at the post office. 26 chicks arrived in this box! |
| Judzea was quite curious, as were we about the little one below. A surprise extra chick - a rare and exotic breed from the hatchery. We won't know for sure what breed for a while, but are thinking it's a Phoenix. |

The chicks arrived very well and happy. Once we got them in their insulted bin with red lights for heat, they sang. |
The Rhode Island Reds (12 all female), are a little smaller, and already have wing feathers sprouting. |
The Buff Orpingtons (14, straight run - mixed gender) are very golden, plump and fluffy. They're all way too cute, and contented in their brooding bin kept around 90 degrees.
